For most kids, the social pressures of middle school are tough enough. But an increasing number of young teenagers, some as young 10 or 11, are coming out as gay or lesbian in middle school. Benoit Denizet-Lewis, who wrote about the trend in the New York Times Magazine, discusses what social factors could be leading young people to come out earlier.
