On Wednesday, June 30th, I had the opportunity to speak at the first-ever multi-agency Pride celebration hosted by the SF offices of the FBI, DEA, GSA and U.S. Attorney. It was a truly stunning and historic event, all the more amazing because it was held in the courtroom next door to Judge Walker’s at the federal courthouse. Other speakers included former police officer and Matthew Shepard Foundation board member Greg Miraglia and Sylvia Maria Guerrero, the mother of Gwen Araujo. It was an honor to be in their company and to celebrate Pride month with federal law enforcement personnel.
I was asked to speak about the many recent changes in benefits available to federal employees. Below are my remarks from the historic celebration:
